Himalayan salt was created more than 250 million years ago. It is believed to remain from the dried remains of a primordial sea that formed into crystals over millions of years.

Himalayan salt is mined by hand in mines in the foothills of the Himalayas, crushed, washed and dried after digging. Nothing is added or taken away from the salt, so it retains its natural and original purity. It is obtained exclusively by hand excavation, without explosives or other machinery.

Himalayan salt is also called white or rose gold in the Himalayas, as it was once used as a form of currency.
