Curcuma is a spice known for its distinctive yellow colour. It is native to the Far East, but has recently been used more and more in Europe, where it probably came via Arab traders. As a spice, dried and ground turmeric root are most commonly used.

Turmeric has always been used in the diet in Asia because they are aware of its many properties that have good effects on the human body. The taste is slightly spicy and a little bitter.

One capsule (recommended daily dose) contains 180 mg of turmeric extract.
