Trikatu is a Sanskrit word that means "three spices&". It is a traditional mixture of three spices in equal proportions:ginger, black pepper and long pepper.

Trikatu is used in Ayurveda to stimulate agni. Agni is a biological fire in the Ayurvedic tradition and has no corresponding equivalent in modern science. Trikatu contains the valuable active ingredient gingerol.
